In this Festival we would like to give dancers of all different levels the opportunity to participate throughout the weekend, for this reason we will provide a variety of classes from workshops for complete beginners to masterclasses.  So if you are already a tango dancer, you need to have a look at the theme of each workshop in the Programme section and choose the one you think will be most suitable for you. If you are a complete beginner this is a great opportunity to start this wonderful dance, or if you have any friends who have never danced Tango before, this is also a great moment to bring them to the dance floor!

We have carefully chosen all the guest teachers for this event. We trust and admire their way of teaching and professionalism, and we are sure you will have a great time learning with them.

If you are wondering what your level of dancing is we might be able to help you, but this also always depends on your own honesty and self awareness with regards to your dancing. You can look at the following guidelines in order to get an idea of your level but please don't depend on this too much as it can only give an approximate level.

Beginners:  No previous tango experience is required.  These classes are also good for students of all levels who would like to re-visit the basics.

Improvers: A good basic understanding and ability to apply the core techniques in tango.

Intermediate: Good base in Tango, Milonga and Vals and a clear concept of the embrace, ochos, giros and musicality.  Confidence dancing in milongas and in understanding the codes of the milonga.

Advanced:  To be qualified as an advanced dancer you should have very strong technique in Tango, Milonga and Vals; good giros and contragiros; excellent leading/following in both close and open embrace; and good musicality including syncopation and double timing.  Additionally you will be confident dancing in a crowded milonga.

*Private lessons with the teachers are available at the weekend and on Monday, but need to be booked in advance.  Please contact us for more information.

NON PERFORMING AUDIENCE: If you feel you are not at the level for a workshop but feel that watching the workshop would help to improve or understand the technique to use it in the future you can be part of the non-participating audience in any of the classes or workshops, paying a fee of 50% of the full amount.
